How do I join the club
SFC Training

In order to train with SFC a member must have an existing package in place AND no outstanding payments. SFC reserves the right to restrict a member from training, if either of these requirements are not met.

Singapore Football Club (SFC) conducts training sessions all through the year. We have 4 terms (quarters) that are each 12 weeks long.

SFC does not conduct training on official Singapore public holidays.

SFC does not offer any pay-as-you-play options. This is to ensure that our coaches and administrative staff know which players will be attending each training session, well in advance, and thereafter so that they can plan each session accordingly. The club also needs to know, to ensure that the training sessions do not become overcrowded.

Lastly, the club requests that players adhere to their requested training days. Permanent changes to a member’s weekly training plan can be catered for in the following circumstances:

a).  before the start of a new term or package, provided that there is space available for the player at the training session they wish to change to; or

b). an SFC senior coach recommends a change, on the basis that there is an alternative training session that is better suited for the player’s overall development. This change should be mutually agreed upon by both the club and the player’s parents or guardians.

SFC employs a buddy system for our coaches, that ensures that there is coaching consistency for the players, should any of our coaches be away or unable to take a training session.

Where do you train?

Check out our Training Venues page for locations.

Each venue caters for a selection of age groups and teams. Singapore Football Club reserves the right to decide where a member trains. The team or age group that a player trains with, will typically be determined by the players age. This is primarily for safety reasons.

As Singapore Football Club (SFC) continues to grow we are always looking to provide the best training venues, where possible, for our members.

Suitable football pitches in Singapore are limited, and whilst we do not look to change our training venues frequently, from time to time it may be required for various reasons.

The club reserves the right to relocate members to a different training venue, should the need arise.

Any changes will be communicated well in advance.

When do you train?

Weekdays: The club has training every day apart from Sundays. Each team’s training schedule depends on their age group, but we hold sessions on weekdays, usually commencing at 5:00pm onwards

Weekends:Depending on matches or tournaments the club also hold Saturday training sessions on Saturday, usually commencing at 5:00pm onwards.

For specific details relating to your age group please email: info@singaporefootballclub.com

Attendance

Members should attend the weekly training sessions that they have signed up for.  First and foremost this is out of respect to their fellow team mates, and also their coach. Non-attendance can be disruptive for the training sessions planned. Additionally, the operational requirements involved, in order to have pitches and coaching staff available for each training session, are significant.

As a result, SFC cannot bear the burden for any changes in a member’s school or personal commitments which results in them missing a scheduled training session. The responsibility for attendance lies with the members, and their parents or guardians.

SFC reserves the right to include additional training fees on any member that attends training sessions, that they are not scheduled to attend.

SFC Training and Match Kits

It is compulsory for all members to train in Singapore Football Club (SFC) training attire. One set of SFC training kit is provided to all new members, upon payment of their registration. Should members make changes or alterations to the club’s attire, they may be asked to purchase new items at their own expense.

Additional SFC training and match kits can be purchased via SFC’s online store (launching soon), or upon request via email: info@singaporefootballclub.com

Make Up Sessions

Make up sessions, for any session missed, can be taken on another training day, but must be taken during the same term.

Missed sessions cannot be carried over to the following term (quarter) unless a doctor’s note is provided.

Make up sessions are capped at 4 sessions per term (quarter) to avoid disruption to fellow team mates and the club’s training plans.

Missed sessions are not refundable if a player chooses to leave the club.

What happens to training sessions in the event of wet weather, lightning or haze?

Even if the area of Singapore you are in has heavy rain, please assume that training is always on.

Please do note that our coaches are football coaches. They are not meteorologists. Our staff are very talented coaches, but please do not expect them to predict the weather, or make accurate forecasts. We will not be able to assist with questions about whether it will continue to rain, or not on a particular day.

Our coaches will make an informed decision at the venue, at the time of training (not before), on whether training can proceed. Player safety is the club’s primary consideration at all times. This includes if the pitch is waterlogged and prevents play from proceeding.

Whilst it is always disappointing when adverse weather impacts our plans, we seek your understanding and patience when it does.

What happens to training sessions in the event of lightning?

Singapore Football Club follows the National Environment Agency (NEA) guidelines. Training will be stopped or suspended if the LWS is activated. It will only resume once the LWS indicates it is safe.

Whilst it is always disappointing when adverse weather impacts our plans, we seek your understanding and patience when it does.

What happens in the event of haze?

Singapore Football Club follows the National Environment Agency (NEA) guidelines.

In case of haze, training sessions will stop in the event the PSI level is above 150.

All of the above measures are put in place solely with the players’ and coaches’ health and safety in mind.

Whilst it is always disappointing when adverse weather impacts our plans, we seek your understanding and patience when it does.

Injuries

In the unfortunate event that a member is injured, and consequently unable to train or play in matches, members should email the club informing them of the injury with an accompanying doctor’s note.

Upon receipt of the doctor’s note the club will be able to offset the time missed from the member’s next billing cycle.
